ADU: The Astronomer's Tower

We were tasked to design an ADU located in Portland Maine. The client is a college student and amateur astronomer and geologist whose parents own the main house. We were required to meet zoning, ADA and R-value requirements. Structure, HVAC, Site, and material selection were also an important focus in this design project.
